Just The Beginning Foundation is seeking Chicago area law students who are interested in an externship placement with a judge for the Spring of 2013. The Just the Beginning Foundation’s objective in this program is to promote diversity among judicial externs. JTBF will compile law students’ credentials and submit this information to interested Judges for their review. Participating Judges will provide externs with assignments that will enhance their legal research, writing and analytical skills. Students will have the opportunity to draft memoranda of law and to brief Judges on case related issues. Students will work a minimum of 10 hours per week for the Spring semester.
To apply students should send the following documents electronically to email@example.com by December 7, 2012:
1. Statement of Interest, explaining the candidates’ interest in diversity and this opportunity;
3. Law School Transcript (Official transcript not required); and
4. 2 References (optional but recommended).
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF A PLACEMENT IS SECURED AND YOU WISH TO APPLY FOR COURSE CREDIT, YOU MUST COMPLETE A LAW SCHOOL INTERNAL APPLICATION AND RETURN IT TO MS. JOSIE GOUGH ON OR BEFORE DECEMBER 21, 2012.
