Established to provide first-year minority law students with a valuable employment experience early in their legal career, the Bricker & Eckler LLP minority scholarship will be awarded to a minority candidate (as defined in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commissions Regulations, 29 C.F.R. Part 1602, i.e. Native American or Alaska native, Asian or Pacific Islander, African-American or Black and Hispanic) who demonstrates leadership skills, academic strength, service to the community and an overall commitment to excellence.
Minority students in their first year of legal studies currently enrolled in an ABA-approved law school are eligible to apply for the scholarship. One scholarship in the form of a $10,000 cash award (less any applicable taxes and withholdings) towards law school tuition and other law school related expenses will be awarded. In addition, the scholarship recipient will receive a paid summer associate position for the summer of 2013.
All minority 1L law students currently enrolled in an ABA-approved law school are eligible to apply. Interested students can apply on-line now by downloading the application at http://www.bricker.com/about-us/WalkerScholarship.aspx.
The application deadline is February 15, 2013.
