The ABA Center for Professional Responsibility shapes legal policies that represent one of the core competencies of the ABA and its unique strength and ability to establish national standards in professional responsibility law.

Externs will be assigned to work on a variety of substantive legal research projects including conducting research for:

  • Ethics opinions;
  • Substantive legal articles;
  • Upcoming educational panels; or
  • Amendments to ABA model rules and standards.

This extern opportunity is open to students who have completed their Professional Responsibility Course and have an interest in legal ethics, regulation, professionalism, client protection, or specialization. Students will be able to earn academic credit for this placement.
